US company DecoWraps is moving its Aalsmeer office to Green Park Aalsmeer. On 6 February 2017, alderpersons Verburg (Aalsmeer) and Polak (Uithoorn) were present when the first pile was driven for the new logistics centre at Thailandlaan 13 in Aalsmeer. The contractors for the project, VDR Bouwgroep, estimate that construction will be completed during the second half of 2017.

The distribution centre for packaging manufacturer DecoWraps Europe will be built on an 8,000 m2 lot and will feature a 1,500 m2 office and a 3,200 m2 warehouse. The facility will be built sustainably and will be BREEAM certified, with a particular focus on reduced energy consumption, the environment and a healthy indoor climate.

DecoWraps is a leading international manufacturer and distributor of innovative packaging materials for cut flowers and potted plants. The company’s headquarters are located in Miami (US), with additional offices in Colombia, Ecuador, China and Aalsmeer. DecoWraps occupies a prominent position within the floral sector and is a welcome addition to Green Park Aalsmeer’s existing occupants in the Home, Gift & Garden sector. The company’s new Aalsmeer location will supply the entire European market and will create approximately 30 new jobs.
