Somerset Capital Partners break ground for a new multi-tenant distribution centre at Schiphol Logistics Park

Somerset Capital Partners (Somerset) is developing high-quality distribution centres (AMS01) on Naritaweg at Schiphol Logistics Park. Heembouw recently started construction of a first multi-tenant distribution center. Its first foundation was placed during a ceremony held on 18 May 2017.

The multi-tenant building is the first phase of the total development project at quadrant I. Architects Mulderblauw produced the design for the building. Somerset recently concluded an agreement with the logistics services company Seko Benelux, which will sign a long-term lease for 6,000 m2 of space in this new 20,000 m2 building. Heembouw are set to deliver this first phase during the final quarter of 2017.

During the second phase, Somerset will develop flexible business units, satisfying the high demand for property in the immediate vicinity of Schiphol. Starting at 1,500 m2, the units are suitable for companies whose business activities demand close proximity to the airport. The convenient location of the bays in relation to the spacious forecourt makes it easy to connect the units to an area of around 20,000 m2. Each unit has two loading bays and an overhead door. With a clearance height of 12.1 metres and a load-bearing floor weight of 5,000 kg, the units satisfy the most recent logistics requirements. Heembouw will start construction in September. Habeon Architecten are responsible for the design of phase 2.

The new development is situated on the plot adjacent to the AMS8 data centre, which was commissioned by Interxion and completed by Somerset earlier this year. An environmental permit was recently approved for the construction of a second data centre in this area.
