A ceremony to mark the driving of the first pile for the Hello World development was held on 12 November, attended by the alderpersons Marja Ruigrok and Jurgen Nobel of the municipality of Haarlemmermeer, Erjan Sprakel of VolkerWessels Logistics Development, and Rob van den Broek of Delta Development Group.

Delta Development Group and VolkerWessels Logistics Development are the companies responsible for developing Hello World, which is a ‘sister’ development of their first joint project at Schiphol Trade Park, the ABC Square, completed a year ago.

Cradle-to-cradle
Like ABC Square, Hello World is cradle-to-cradle optimised and will feature green central entrances, a façade of solar-control glazing, and panels in graphic patterns. The building will be certified BREEAM Excellent. The interior architecture will be people-oriented, with a focus on daylight and healthy air. Plants are to play a significant role both inside and outside.

The building will be all electric, and energy positive thanks to 11,000 solar panels on the roof.
