Molenaar Haarlem opens its doors at PolanenPark

On Saturday, 11 March, Molenaar Haarlem held a festive opening celebration at Business Park PolanenPark. Located on a parcel of 6,800 m2, their new complex comprising an office, warehouse and outdoor storage area has officially been put into use. Their equipment and other materials had already been moved to the new location in December 2016. The opening of the new building was not the only cause for celebration: Molenaar Haarlem is also celebrating its 135th anniversary this year.

On behalf of PolanenPark, alderperson Van Haeften presented a large work of art in honour of the occasion: a steel road plate stamped with the Molenaar Haarlem logo. The municipality and the PolanenPark business association also offered the company an artwork as a gift. Mr Molenaar’s grandchildren had the honour of pushing a large red button to symbolise the official opening.

Molenaar Haarlem is a lease and trading company that deals in steel and plastic road plates, crane mats and walkways, and has been doing business in Haarlemmerliede for 135 years. Due to the narrow access road running right through the village centre of Penningsveer, their former location was no longer optimal for the company. Instead, the company found a suitable new site for its planned expansion at PolanenPark, a top location with room for companies in higher environmental categories. Since sustainability and professional image are high priorities at PolanenPark, Molenaar Haarlem found it to be an extremely suitable location in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area.

Intensive partnership
SADC helped Molenaar Haarlem make the transition to this new location, also on behalf of the PolanenPark shareholders (municipality of Haarlemmerliede and Spaarnwoude, the Province of Noord-Holland, RON and SADC). Schenk Makelaars Consultants provided assistance to Molenaar Haarlem during the purchase. It has proven to be a good solution for SADC, Molenaar and the region – and particularly for the town of Haarlemmerliede. Thanks to current tenants such as Air Products, itsme and PostNL, as well as other parties that PolanenPark is in discussions with at the moment, development of the business park is in full swing.
