To mark the occasion of SADC’s 30th anniversary, the summer 2017 edition of the business magazine Haarlemmermeer INTO Business included a special feature on SADC. Six entrepreneurs were interviewed for the article; read more about the interview with Ernst Sweens of Somerset Capital Partners (Schiphol Logistics Park and Schiphol Trade Park) below.
Somerset Capital Partners is an investor and developer in the field of top-end and large-scale real estate at strategic and multi-modal locations, with a clear focus on logistics and data centres. Ernst Sweens is Managing Partner at Somerset Capital Partners, which has been active at Schiphol Logistics Park since 2014 and is now branching out to Schiphol Trade Park as well.
Both parks are designated multi-modal locations that can accommodate large-scale logistics real estate as well as smaller logistics business units. “These locations are or will be made easily accessible, and the zoning plan offers sufficient room for our intended business,” says Sweens. “Schiphol Logistics Park has already become a ‘proven location’ and is an excellent base for our users.”
Sweens has high expectations for Schiphol Trade Park. “With its own access road to the A4 highway, the proximity to Hoofddorp and its central train station at walking distance, this park is guaranteed to be a success. We have already applied for the first permits for Schiphol Trade Park.”
In his view, Schiphol Trade Park offers an outstanding business climate. “With Schiphol Airport around the corner and the A4, A5 and N201 motorways for direct access to distribution networks, entrepreneurs can give their full attention to their business. Meanwhile, the park management ensures the setting is pleasant and productive.”
Sweens is full of praise for the relationship with SADC. “They are always committed to finding practicable solutions, they are flexible and always think with us, anticipating our needs. All the people who work at SADC are top rate, which helps avoid misunderstandings. SADC operates transparently and reliably. Keep up the good work!”
