On Friday 26 April construction work started on the Van der Meulen family’s multi-tenant building at Green Park Aalsmeer. “We’ve bought land to either side of the existing building and that means we can expand,” says Ingrid van der Laarse-van der Meulen. “The land was purchased for our new multi-tenant business premises and for logistics space on the site. Half of the new building has already been let to Modefabriek. They’re moving from our existing building, which means that Pols Potten, also a tenant here, will be able to expand.”
As it has done previously to mark the arrival of new companies on the site, Green Park Aalsmeer makes a small donation to charity when building work starts. The Van der Meulen family has chosen the Mike Multi Foundation, which promotes sport for people with special needs and was founded by people from Aalsmeer. “As a family business from Aalsmeer, that really appeals to us,” says Van der Laarse-van der Meulen.
Next to their present business premises, the Van der Meulen family have acquired a 3,500m2 lot, on which a building is to be constructed with a gross floor area of 5000 square metres. The building will have large overhead doors and underfloor heating, and will be handed over without fixtures and fittings. If requested by tenants, solar panels will be installed on the roof. The building is expected to be completed in 2020.
Jumping and dancing to the rhythm of the pile driver, the Van der Meulen family’s children celebrate the first pile being driven for the new multi-tenant building.
