On 15 September 2020, construction company Aan de Stegge Twello drove the first pile for Vitakruid’s new headquarters at business park De President in Hoofddorp, a development of SADC and the municipality of Haarlemmermeer. This 3,507 m2 phase 1 plot will see the construction of a 2,700 m2 sustainable building with warehouse, training facilities and offices. Set to be completed in the first quarter of 2021, this new headquarters will deliver to 5,000 sales points throughout the Netherlands.

A family business from Hillegom, Vitakruid began developing high-quality nutritional supplements in 2000 and currently has 25 employees. Clients include natural practitioners, chiropractors, physiotherapists, rheumatologists and orthomolecular therapists. The company also sells to private individuals via web shops. Professionals will have the opportunity to be trained at the new facilities.

“We’ve been at our current location in business park Graan voor Visch-Zuid since 2014,” says Bob van Inge, director and owner of Vitakruid. “At the time, that was already a huge leap forward, just as this move to the new building will be. And I’m not just talking about square meters, but also in terms of appearance, an amazing interior and efficient logistics. On top of that, electricity will be our only energy source and the roof will house enough solar panels to meet all our electricity needs.

“We customised this building based on Vitakruid’s logistical processes and desire for a high-quality interior and crafted finishing,” says Evert Veerman, commercial project manager at Aan de Stegge Twello. “The result is a functional and inviting building that fits like a tailor-made suit. The excellent building plan is thanks to the smooth preparatory phase we undertook, carefully working out all necessary details with Vitakruid, SADC and the municipality of Haarlemmermeer – not forgetting the whole construction team.
