No Excess: “Launching new projects at great locations”

  18 July 2017  |    Interview

To mark the occasion of SADC’s 30th anniversary, the summer 2017 edition of the business magazine Haarlemmermeer INTO Business included a special feature on SADC. Six entrepreneurs were interviewed for the article; read more about the interview with Roel de Veer and Henry Potuijt of No Excess (Business Park Amsterdam Osdorp) below.

No Excess is a brand for casual menswear. Their products are sold at 1,500 sales outlets in 15 countries, both in- and outside of Europe. The company distributes the clothing from its head office in Amsterdam. No Excess currently employs 45 people and has been located at Business Park Amsterdam Osdorp since December 2016.

Business Park Amsterdam Osdorp was a deliberate choice for No Excess. “It’s a good location for us, given the concentration of fashion brands in the nearby business parks,” explains Managing Director Roel de Veer. Besides the excellent infrastructure, De Veer names the physical location of the premises (with parking space covering 9,100 square metres) as an advantage. “We are surrounded by greenery and water, with a marvellous view of the polder landscape of Amsterdam-Sloten.”

SADC has worked closely with No Excess to relocate the business from Lijnden to Business Park Amsterdam Osdorp, especially regarding the communication with Amsterdam’s municipal government. De Veer predicts a bright future for Business Park Amsterdam Osdorp. “I expect it won’t be long before the park is fully occupied. I’m not entirely sure about the park’s potential for expansion, however.”

No Excess’ Financial Director Henry Potuijt has a clear idea on how SADC should continue its activities in the coming years. “SADC should launch new projects at promising locations, so that Amsterdam and the surrounding region can further enhance their profile as a highly attractive, international setting for businesses.”
